How To Start A Preschool In Your Home
For a business-minded mom, starting a preschool in your home could be the right choice! You're probably thinking you need a college degree to start a preschool in your home, but this is not always the case! There a thousands of moms out there that run successful preschools in their homes and they do not have any formal education.

Most of them even got started without breaking the bank! So, what are the requirements to start a preschool in your home?

First and foremost, which should be obvious, is that you must really love kids! You will be spending many hours with your students,  and parents will be expecting you to provide not only a quality education, but a safe and fun environment for their children.

Patience and an easy-going attitude are also critical when you are working with children. If you have any previous experience working with children, it is helpful. Of course if you are already a mother, you can use your parenting skills to help you with owning a preschool.

You are going to have to continually show parents that their children are in capable hands and always be patient and understanding with your students. Another important thing to consider before you start a preschool in your home, is to talk to your local city about licensing requirements.

An easy way to find the guidelines for licensing in your area is to use Google to search "your city" and "child care licensing". There are some states that require some kind of child care education or license, but most states do not. It just depends on what state you live in. Again, do a google search for your state's child care licensing website, and find out if you are required to have any special license to operate your preschool.

You're also going to need curriculum that is of good quality. You don't want to skimp in this area and going out and buying the cheapest curriculum you can find is not advisable.

On a final note, you're going to want to set a budget as the last thing you want to do is run out of money while you're getting your preschool set up!

Time management is something you're going to want to consider as well, because you want to have a life too. You'll need to determine how many hours you are willing to work and what hours you will be open for business.

In setting your budget, decide how much money will be needed for monthly operating expenses and use this to factor how much you are going to need to charge for each child.

To sum up what is required to start a preschool in your home; all you really need is to check your city and state licensing requirements, purchase quality curriculum, have some space in your home or garage to designate to your preschool and get some sort of training or guide to help you run a smooth operation.

To help with all of the above, I was able to find a program that I think is perfect for anyone interested in starting a preschool from home.
